A few of us\u00a0recently gathered to sample goodies from a couple local bakeries.\u00a0 We were compelled to do it\u00a0in honor of Valentine’s Day of course, and for extra enjoyment while watching The Bachelor<\/a>\u00a0(btw, I know who Jake is going to pick — If you want to know too, read here<\/a>).\u00a0 Back to the sweets.\u00a0 To prepare for this tasting event we picked up\u00a0a variety of goodies from two different bakeries we often pass by, but have yet to\u00a0stop in until now.\u00a0 Both\u00a0bakeries\u00a0are on 17th Street in Costa Mesa near Newport.<\/p>\n

<\/a>\"Bakery<\/a><\/a>\"Bakery<\/a>\"Bakery<\/a>\"Bakery<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n

The large box of yummies was transferred to the red plate above — They’re from\u00a0Champagne French Bakery Cafe<\/a>.\u00a0 And the smaller box of varied Cookies\u00a0spread out below are from French’s Cupcake Bakery<\/a>.\u00a0 The main similarity\u00a0between the two\u00a0is the word “French”\u00a0and they’re both\u00a0offering\u00a0beautiful heart shaped Sugar Cookies for Valentine’s Day.<\/p>\n

\"Bakery<\/a><\/p>\n

There are\u00a0other differences between the two, thus we can’t pick one\u00a0over the other.\u00a0 We’ll just mention that we liked French’s Cupcake Bakery<\/a> <\/strong>more than we expected to.\u00a0\u00a0Champagne French Bakery Cafe<\/a> <\/strong>had always looked\u00a0aesthetically better to us.\u00a0 We preferred the Sugar Cookie from French’s Cupcake Bakery, who appears to sell hundreds of baked goods.\u00a0 CFBC serves “quality French cuisine.”\u00a0\u00a0They prepare\u00a0sweet and savory items.<\/p>\n

* Unfortunately we don’t know the\u00a0official names of all, but our favorites included the Lemon Tart<\/strong> — We just loved the look of the charred\u00a0Lemon on top.\u00a0\u00a0And honorable mentions\u00a0go to the square Coconut Cookie<\/strong> directly above and the mound Nut Cookie<\/strong> two over on the left.\u00a0 Sorry, that’s the best we can currently do with description.<\/p>\n
