Welcome to Irvine —\u00a0The Lazy Dog Cafe<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0We’re lucky to have you.\u00a0 The Togarashi Edamame Beans<\/a> <\/strong>(above) lead this post, because we think they’re the best Edamame in Orange County.\u00a0\u00a0Wash your hands good before eating ’em, so you can lick your fingers.\u00a0 Their smoky flavor is amazing.\u00a0 My friend couldn’t stop talking about them, thus\u00a0they made one of the biggest impressions.<\/p>\n

\"Trio<\/a><\/p>\n

The Lazy Dog Cafe<\/a>\u00a0at The Market Place in Irvine just opened a few days ago.\u00a0 Nibbles of Tidbits happily attended a pre-opening sneak peek and we\u00a0now report about\u00a0a small portion of what’s on their menu<\/a>.\u00a0 To sum it all up, we were\u00a0impressed with everything\u00a0— The service, decor, friendliness, food and prices.\u00a0 Here’s what we had… Trio of Hummus Dips <\/strong>which includes a Walnut Pesto, Sundried Tomato and Traditional Hummus served with Flatbread, Cucumbers and Tomatoes.<\/p>\n

Spinach & Sundried Tomato Cheese Dip <\/strong>with Jack, Parmesan and Swiss Cheeses blended with fresh Baby Spinach, Garlic and Sundried Tomatoes.<\/p>\n

\"Kitchen<\/a><\/p>\n

Our sneak peek included a tour of the bustling kitchen and dinner with fellow Orange County Food Bloggers.\u00a0 It was super fun to meet Scott from Foodie in Disguise<\/a> and see Christian again from OC Mex Food<\/a>.\u00a0 And Griffin Eats OC<\/a> posts another interesting report on The Lazy Dog Cafe.<\/p>\n

\"Cast<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n

Continuing with the food… We enjoyed the Cast Iron Idaho Trout<\/strong> that’s\u00a0baked in a cast iron skillet with Sea Salt Roasted Vegetables, Baby Potatoes and topped with a Citrus Walnut Brown Butter Sauce.<\/p>\n

\"Bacon<\/a><\/p>\n

Bacon Wrapped Coulotte Steak<\/strong> (best part of the Sirloin) served over Confetti Veggies and Mashed Potatoes with Burgundy Wine Sauce.<\/p>\n

\"Mushroom<\/a><\/p>\n

Mushroom & Onion Flat Iron Steak<\/strong> topped with sauteed Madeira Mushrooms and Onions,\u00a0served with Mashed Potatoes and Confetti Veggies.<\/p>\n

\"Beer<\/a><\/p>\n

Beer Battered Fish N’ Chips <\/strong>made with Coldwater Cod and served with a Horseradish Tartar Sauce, Asian Slaw and French Fries.<\/p>\n

\"Baja<\/a><\/p>\n

Baja California Burger <\/strong>with Guacamole, Ortega Chilis, Jack Cheese and a Jalapeno & Lime Aioli with a side of Sweet Corn Salad.<\/p>\n

The Bar Top is spectacular — I could stare at it all day, but probably wouldn’t get much accomplished.\u00a0 Unfortunately I don’t remember the cool specifics about it, but ‘it ain’t no laminate’ on top.\u00a0 We’ll\u00a0ask our resident Interior Designer, Guest Blogger Bonnie to add a footnote about it.<\/p>\n

Also pictured above is the Iceberg Wedge Salad<\/strong>, Chicken Tortilla Soup<\/strong> and a\u00a0Cobbler<\/strong> — By the time the desserts came along, I was stuffed and had to get a move on, thus don’t have a clear report on the best part of the meal for some.\u00a0 I sure wish I could take a bite now.<\/p>\n
