\"Brie<\/a><\/p>\n

Funny story… A friend and I were walking around Corona Del Mar<\/a> hungry one day.\u00a0 First we learned all the restaurants we wanted to eat at didn’t open until 5PM, then remembered\u00a0Zinc Cafe & Market<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 We’d heard a lot of remarkable things about it, but still hadn’t been there.\u00a0 Finally made it there and enjoyed\u00a0looking at all the fabulous stuff —\u00a0Cheese, Sandwiches, Soups, Salads,\u00a0Pastries and Market Items galore!\u00a0\u00a0We were paralyzed with indecision and\u00a0also learned\u00a0one must\u00a0order food at the register, while\u00a0staking out a coveted\u00a0table at the same time.\u00a0 All will be fine for another visit and the proprietors seemed\u00a0friendly too, but\u00a0we\u00a0wanted to kick\u00a0it and be served at the time.\u00a0 Thus the story continues…<\/p>\n

After another 5 or 6 block walk, we ended up at CoCo’s for\u00a0ease, nourishment\u00a0and familiarity.\u00a0\u00a0And it was interesting to learn that CoCo’s Restaurant & Bakery<\/strong><\/a> is currently offering a\u00a0Wine & Appetizer Selections Menu.\u00a0 We were impressed with\u00a0the progressive offerings\u00a0and\u00a0opted to try the Brie Appetizer Platter<\/strong> (one small Brie wedge\u00a0served warm\u00a0crusted with Macadamia Nuts and another\u00a0topped with a Jalapeno Raspberry Sauce) and the\u00a0Crispy Green Bean Sticks<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0All sounded fun and good, but yuck — Sorry.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Macadamia Nut Brie was okay (mostly tasteless), and the other microscopic sized Brie wedge was stone cold, seemingly\u00a0direct from the fridge with the flavor to prove it.\u00a0 The Grapes didn’t look\u00a0good and the Bread was sparse.\u00a0 The Green Beans were tolerable, but better re-heated\u00a0in my toaster\u00a0oven until extra crispy,\u00a0with\u00a0real Ranch Dressing, instead of the lumpy version we were served at CoCo’s.\u00a0\u00a0We laughed thinking\u00a0about the quality Cheese and Bread we\u00a0could’ve been enjoying\u00a0at Zinc Cafe. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
