\"SideDoor<\/a><\/p>\n

Have you been to SideDoor<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>yet?\u00a0 It’s an English-style Gastropub in Corona Del Mar off Poppy and PCH.\u00a0 You may\u00a0not know\u00a0about SideDoor until now, but if local you’re surely aware of the Five Crowns Restaurant<\/a>.\u00a0 It’s been in CDM for over 40 years.\u00a0 Last year Five Crowns carved out a space to create SideDoor, which officially opened in November 2009.\u00a0 It’s absolutely brilliant!\u00a0 Just look for the red key hanging on the outside\u00a0to find SideDoor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"Five<\/a><\/p>\n

We loved everything about this place and plan to go back many times.\u00a0 It’s comfortable and stylish, serves amazing food, fun drink options and the service is well above average.\u00a0 You’ll certainly have questions about the Cheese and Charcuterie<\/strong>\u00a0and the servers will be\u00a0able to answer them — We especially recommend Ben who is quite knowledgeable and cute.<\/p>\n

\"Cheese<\/a><\/p>\n

In addition to the Cheese <\/strong>(Cow, Sheep, Goat & Bleu) and Charcuterie <\/strong>(Proscuitto, Salame & Bresaola) options, SideDoor’s Menu<\/a> is impressive.\u00a0 Our goal is to try everything.<\/p>\n

\"Flight<\/a>\"Country<\/a>\"Mac'n<\/a>\"Chicken<\/a><\/p>\n

We started with a Flight of Draught Beer — Favorite of all (this visit) was the Allagash Curieaux.\u00a0 And we\u00a0tried the Country Duck Pate<\/strong>, StilCheddar Mac’n Cheese<\/strong> and Fish’n Chips<\/strong>.\u00a0 Also pictured is our neighbor’s Chicken Pot Pie<\/strong>.\u00a0 We didn’t\u00a0have it, but did\u00a0try their Smokey Blue Cheese Potato Chips<\/strong> (not pictured) and really liked ’em.\u00a0\u00a0Our pub table was a\u00a0large shared one with\u00a0nice, fun\u00a0people, which added to the experience.<\/p>\n

\"Fish'n<\/a><\/p>\n

The Fish’n Chips <\/strong>are excellent, which is important for an English-style Gastropub.\u00a0 Having been to England\u00a0three times and dined in several authentic English Pubs, we think SideDoor holds up in many ways — We appreciate its lighting, colors, ambiance, feel, comfort\u00a0and decor.<\/p>\n

\"GimmeMores<\/a><\/p>\n

Pictured directly above is the GimmeMores<\/strong>, SideDoor’s version of S’Mores.\u00a0 They’re assembled with homemade Marshmallows,\u00a0rustic Bread and pressed Chocolate, similar to a Panini.\u00a0 They’re different and surprisingly good.<\/p>\n

\"SideDoor<\/a>\"Preparing<\/a>\"Side<\/a><\/a><\/a>\"Inside<\/a><\/a><\/a><\/p>\n

SideDoor<\/a><\/strong> is long and somewhat narrow inside with several cozy dining spots —\u00a0Tall tables,\u00a0cubby holes next to fireplaces,\u00a0couch benches,\u00a0large chairs, or\u00a0belly up at the bar.\u00a0 It’s an extraordinary place I’d like to frequent and look forward to going back soon.\u00a0 It’s bloody awesome!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
