Have you been to A Restaurant<\/strong><\/a> in Newport Beach?\u00a0 It occupies The Arches<\/a> original location.\u00a0 We’re sorry to report that we don’t care for the name “A Restaurant” at all, but happily the\u00a0menu,\u00a0atmosphere and Happy Hour prices\u00a0make up for it.\u00a0 The bar lighting is irresistible too, especially during Happy Hour which starts earlier than most\u00a0in town (3:00 – 7:00pm).\u00a0 During that time ALL sophisticated appetizers and drinks are half off.\u00a0 If trying to save, it’s the best time to treat yourself\u00a0to\u00a0A Restaurant food, since it’s a little on the pricey side.<\/p>\n

Posted from top to bottom — We tried the Steak Tartar<\/strong>, which is rarely seen on menus these days.\u00a0 We were excited by its offering,\u00a0given\u00a0that it’s been years\u00a0since we had it.\u00a0 And we shared the Chicken Liver Terrine<\/strong>.\u00a0 We liked the creamy Pate, but unfortunately didn’t care for the Tartar, which\u00a0was\u00a0chopped too chunky and\u00a0had too much Worcestershire mixed in.<\/p>\n

We loved the Burger <\/strong>with Caramelized Onions, Blue Cheese, Bacon and Arugula that comes with French Fries, and the Flatbread<\/strong> with 3 Cheeses and Bacon is quite rich, but good tasting too.\u00a0 It’s best to share these appetizers\u00a0amongst as many as possible.<\/p>\n

A Restaurant<\/strong> has A Market <\/strong>next door, which sells freshly baked goods, Wines, Cheeses, Sandwiches, Salads, pre-packaged gourmet foods and merchandise and more.\u00a0 We couldn’t stop staring at the amazing Cinnamon Rolls.\u00a0 Both A+ locations are worth frequenting.\u00a0 Our recommendation is\u00a0A Market for breakfast and A Restaurant for Happy Hour.<\/p>\n
