Have you been to Tanaka Farms<\/strong><\/a> yet?\u00a0 If you haven’t, you’re missing out.\u00a0 It’s in Irvine and is also known as Orange County’s Largest U-Pick Farm<\/strong>.\u00a0 During certain tours you get to pick your own Strawberries, Watermelon and much more.\u00a0 We recently went on the Strawberry Tour<\/strong>, which was more fun than we imagined.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

At the end of the Strawberry Tour, you get to pick and take home your own large basket of Strawberries, which happens after you eat as many as you can stuff down.\u00a0 We\u00a0all said they were the best Strawberries we had in our\u00a0lives.\u00a0 Not sure why, but they’re amazingly sweet.\u00a0 The tour lasts about an hour.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

While on the\u00a0tractor ride that’s\u00a0included with the Strawberry Tour,\u00a0you\u00a0get to try a few of the seasonal vegetables along the way.\u00a0 After sampling all,\u00a0you feel like you’ve just had a healthy meal.\u00a0 We joked that we should bring Salt, Pepper and Ranch Dressing next time — And we seriously might.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In addition to the endless Strawberries, we ate Radishes, Carrots, Sugar Snap Peas, Green Beans, Iceberg and Red Leaf Lettuce directly from the field.\u00a0 What a treat!\u00a0 And when you’re done eating, you just toss the remains (aka Carrot and Radish tops, Strawberry leaves, etc.) over your shoulder off the tractor.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Weekend Strawberry Tours<\/a> are running now through June 27th (weather permitting) and\u00a0the Watermelon Tours<\/a> begin in early July.\u00a0 Tanaka Farms<\/a> also offers Cookout Tours, whereas you get to pick, wash and cook your own meal directly from and at the farm.\u00a0 The view from the cookout area is beautiful.<\/p>\n

We still keep talking about how much\u00a0fun this was and that we now look forward to enjoying Tanaka Farms all year long.\u00a0\u00a0They\u00a0have a fresh produce stand that’s open daily.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Family run Tanaka Farms\u00a0is\u00a0organized, friendly,\u00a0fun, clean\u00a0and pesticide free.\u00a0 They do\u00a0a lot of creative planting to put forth the best produce possible.\u00a0 We’re impressed with ALL.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
