Although the pictured 14lb. Turkey<\/strong>\u00a0cooked up\u00a0too dry, it was only $3 and\u00a0provided\u00a0a lot of tasty meals.\u00a0 I think the oven was too hot.\u00a0 During the holidays, Turkey deals are everywhere.\u00a0 It’s fun to get a giant Turkey for the price of\u00a0a Chicken and\u00a0better yet when\u00a0it’s cooked well.\u00a0 Lemon slices were placed under the skin of this one, unlike\u00a0another Turkey<\/a>\u00a0we’ve shown.\u00a0 Let’s see what happens next time — We\u00a0try different methods and always shoot for juicy.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Prior to\u00a0morphatizing the leftovers, we enjoyed\u00a0the dark meat\u00a0with\u00a0Sage Mashed Potatoes<\/strong> (Potatoes, Butter, Sour Cream, Milk, roasted\/fried Sage Leaves\u00a0and Salt & Pepper), Roasted ‘What’s On-Hand’ Veggies <\/strong>(Celery, Carrots, Onions, Garlic and Sage Leaves roasted in the oven with Olive Oil, White Balsamic Vinegar and Salt & Pepper), and Cranberry Sauce<\/strong> made with fresh Cranberries, Water, Sugar and\u00a0Orange Zest.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Then\u00a0it’s on to\u00a0make the Turkey Stock <\/strong>that’s\u00a0strained\u00a0through cheesecloth and skimmed of fat.\u00a0\u00a0Prior to its preparation, most Turkey meat is obviously reserved to make the following or whatever YOU want.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We always\u00a0have a Turkey Sandwich<\/strong> (or 10).\u00a0 Sometimes it’s only Turkey Sandwiches, because they’re\u00a0simple and good.\u00a0 Sandwich\u00a0variations are endless, but we often find basic the best.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This Turkey Chili<\/strong> was made with roasted and peeled Tomatoes and Chilis (Poblano, Anaheim, Jalapeno), Garlic, Turkey Stock, Chili Spices,\u00a0drained Kidney and Garbanzo Beans, and\u00a0large chunks of white meat Turkey.<\/p>\n

Turkey Quesadillas <\/strong>with Sharp Cheddar and Pepper Jack Cheese, Salsa and Sour Cream.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Turkey Noodle Soup<\/strong>\u00a0made with the\u00a0Turkey Stock and\u00a0leftover Roasted Veggies (pictured above), that were\u00a0pureed, then\u00a0strained to leave behind\u00a0the\u00a0Celery fibers —\u00a0The process produced a flavorful Soup base in which to add Noodles and\u00a0Turkey chunks.<\/p>\n

An attempt at\u00a0Shepherds Pie in a Mason Jar<\/strong> was put forth with a thickened version of the\u00a0Turkey Soup (using Arrowroot), minus most Noodles,\u00a0which\u00a0was then topped\u00a0with\u00a0Sage Mashed Potatoes and Paprika and\u00a0baked in the oven.<\/p>\n

The Shepherds Pie wannabe ended\u00a0up cooking together.\u00a0\u00a0It was pushed over its fine line of doneness, bummer —\u00a0There was a moment when it\u00a0looked great and was surely hot enough to eat.\u00a0 It should’ve been pulled\u00a0out then.<\/p>\n
