As previously noted<\/a>, we attended the Chili at the Beach<\/a><\/strong> event in Huntington Beach.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It\u00a0appeared to have a great turnout and the proceeds will be going to CHOC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We had the opportunity\u00a0to taste 21 different Chili’s for $15 – All participants are listed above.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Chili Score Card<\/strong> and just one of numerous Chili samplings.\u00a0 We\u00a0got to vote for\u00a0our favorite.<\/p>\n

The above was from Whole Foods<\/a>, and below I don’t recall, but\u00a0liked the\u00a0Cornbread.<\/p>\n

Don the Beachcomber<\/a> was there representing well with a friendly booth.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Endless Chili.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Sugar Shack<\/a> had cute little helpers checking off Score Cards when dishing out the Chili.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Rotating bands played all day long\u00a0at two ends of\u00a0Main Street.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Kid’s area on Olive, paralleling Main Street — Loved the giant shark.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And since my friend is on the Board of Trustee’s at the International Surfing Museum<\/a>, we luckily parked in their lot for the day.\u00a0 Thank you HBISM.\u00a0 If you haven’t been there in a while, major changes are happening.\u00a0 It recently merged with the Surfing Heritage Museum<\/a> and thus\u00a0money is\u00a0now available to make improvements.\u00a0 Check it out.\u00a0 Overall, it was a beautiful, uncomplicated and filling day at the Chili at the Beach<\/a><\/strong> event.<\/p>\n

THE RESULTS<\/span>:<\/strong>\u00a0 The 2011 Winners were Duke’s Ohana “Uncle Matty’s Famous Pork Chili” for Best Tasting Chili<\/strong>, Aloha Grill Tiki’s for Most Enthusiastic Chili Team<\/strong>, and Chronic Jerky’s “Chronic’s Outhouse Chili” for Best Chili Name<\/strong>.\u00a0 We’re somewhat in agreement, but must also mention that we\u00a0liked the Chili from Gallagher’s, Baja Sharkeez, Killarney, 2nd Floor and Beach Pit BBQ.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
