Dare I say one of the best meals I’ve ever had?\u00a0 I dare.\u00a0 And the service was friendly (not stuffy) and attentive.\u00a0 I fell in love with ALL aspects of the place.\u00a0\u00a0Each dish was a stunning treat, plus\u00a0we got to tour the kitchen and the wine tasting area downstairs.\u00a0 It was more fun than\u00a0Disneyland.<\/p>\n

Thank you for the amazing food and the\u00a0opportunity to look around.\u00a0\u00a0As of this date,\u00a0Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale’s has\u00a0been open\u00a0one week.\u00a0 My experience tells me that it deserves to have many years of success\u00a0here.<\/p>\n

If locating the restaurant through Bloomingdale’s, you’ll be\u00a0struck by the eye window looking into the kitchen.\u00a0 I was amazed.\u00a0 It’s one of the coolest things I’ve seen.\u00a0 The pictures below are taken of the restaurant\u00a0entrance on the west side of\u00a0Bloomingdale’s.\u00a0\u00a0The bar entrance is\u00a0on the east side — Now it’s starting to\u00a0sound like Manhattan Charlie.<\/p>\n

I really wanted to take pictures of our meal, but\u00a0didn’t ask permission.\u00a0 I especially wish I had a photo of the Foie Gras, since it looked like a piece of art.\u00a0 It tasted incredible too.\u00a0 I was sliding down my comfortable chair it was so good.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Here’s what we had, as described on the menu:<\/p>\n

* Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras, Apricot Tarte Tatin, Carmelized Apricot<\/p>\n

* Aged NY Sirloin, Chipotle Butter, Shallot Confit<\/p>\n

* Prime Flatiron Steak, Sake-Glazed Turnip, Ginger Jus<\/p>\n

* Potato Gratin, Aged Cheddar<\/p>\n

* Root Vegetables, Marjoram Essence\u00a0<\/p>\n

* Farro Risotto, Morels<\/p>\n

All dishes were truly superb.\u00a0 And since my friend blabbed about my birthday, they served a fun, unique Cookie and Jelly assortment.\u00a0 After that, I was glad that she did.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I should also mention that the Root Vegetables were also complimentary, plus they served\u00a0a Sea Urchin Mousse with Caviar and Crabmeat.\u00a0 We greatly appreciated the restaurant’s generosity and excellent hospitality.\u00a0 Everything was top notch.<\/p>\n

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my birthday and\u00a0I’d love to eat there again.\u00a0 Thanks for coming to California Charlie.<\/p>\n

PLUS:\u00a0 They sell good bottles of wine TO GO at comparable retail prices.\u00a0 And their Wine List is a computer, you’ll see.\u00a0 I had a fabulous Australian Syrah recommended by the nice Sommelier.<\/p>\n
