WOW!\u00a0 We had one of the best meals ever at the\u00a0Old Vine Caf\u00e9<\/a> at The Camp<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It’s a relatively small restaurant with airy, open\u00a0indoor\/outdoor seating.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We thoroughly enjoyed our patio seat and hope for the same one next time.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We like the Tasting Menus<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0so much, we want to try them ALL.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There are\u00a09 Tasting Menus<\/a> to choose from, which are basically\u00a0four course meals, with Wine paired with each course —\u00a0The food portions and Wine pours are extremely generous too.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Old Vine Caf\u00e9<\/a> is stylish and its virtuoso menu is presented on painted canvas.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It was hard to decide, but\u00a0we\u00a0chose The Premium Tasting Menu and Savory Tasting Menu.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

TOAST\u00a0between each course and if you fancy\u00a0a\u00a0Wine, take a bottle home<\/a>.\u00a0 We fell for the 2007 Von Hovel Riesling Spatlese, Mosel Saar Ruver Germany.\u00a0 It was crisp and not too sweet.<\/p>\n

At top from first course down, we savored Large Shrimp with a Lemon Grass Curry Sauce.<\/p>\n

And\u00a0Seasonal Greens with Crispy Prosciutto,\u00a0Fried Onions and Maytag Blue Cheese,\u00a0a giant Hand Made\u00a0Raviolo with Smoked Duck, Goat Cheese and Porcini Mushrooms in Brown Butter with Sage, and\u00a0Prosciutto Wrapped Baby Artichokes with a Citrus Infused Olive Oil.<\/p>\n

Char Grilled Lamb Chops with a Blueberry Malbec Demi Glace — The Sauce was\u00a0magical.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Beef Tenderloin Stroganoff with Shitake Mushrooms served over Hand Made Fettuccini.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Artisan Cheese with Marcona Almonds and Fresh Fruit.<\/p>\n

Dark Chocolate Cream Cheese Cake — Cheers to that with Port.<\/p>\n

All is set near tall pine trees, a CAMP<\/a> fire, hammock\u00a0and the largest wind chimes I’ve seen.<\/p>\n

Mark McDonald is\u00a0the Old Vine Caf\u00e9’s<\/a> Chef and owner, and a true\u00a0expert<\/a> on Local Cuisine<\/a>, where Orange County’s Best Restaurants are highlighted\u00a0.\u00a0 I’m\u00a0also a listed\u00a0expert<\/a> and humbled to be named amongst others\u00a0far more knowledge, especially after this\u00a0meal.<\/p>\n

It’s worth the\u00a0sometimes parking hassles of The Camp<\/a>\u00a0—\u00a0Once you’re there, it’s a delicious escape.\u00a0 I love it, I love it, I love it, like a Joyologist, and should have my leg kicked up high.<\/p>\n
