The Taste of Orange County<\/a><\/strong> didn’t start off pretty\u00a0— Long lines, slow processing and network glitches frustrated a lot of people including us, but we hung in there to eventually enjoy a sunny day filled with appetizing food, cooking demonstrations, artwork\u00a0and live bands.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

FOOD\u00a0commenced with\u00a0a Spicy Lobster Shrimp Grinder<\/strong> (at top) from SlapFish<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And the fare continued all day with specialties from several\u00a0local\u00a0high-quality restaurants, including Tamarind of London<\/a>, which offered a nice seating area too, as did a few others.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Though not pictured, Mastro’s Steakhouse<\/a> presented one of the best lounge areas.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The hip set-up paired well with\u00a0Mastro’s<\/a> Steak and Lobster Mashed Potatoes (above).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

A few favorites came from Red Table<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We loved the Yuzu Crab Ceviche Tacos<\/strong> and Braised Beef Short Ribs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We meant to go back for Red Table’s<\/a> Broken Banana Cream Pie after savory, but forgot.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Spicy, tender, flavorful Chicken from Clay Oven<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Haven GastroPub<\/a> served up Crab Rolls<\/strong> (above) and Fried Pigs Ears<\/strong> (below).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Pig’s Ears were another first\u00a0— The pictured were\u00a0sweet, spicy,\u00a0crispy and tasty.<\/p>\n

Short Rib and Crab-related offerings seemed to be popular, an agreeable thing.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The grilling meat reminded us of the upcoming Orange County Fair<\/a>.<\/p>\n
