This dish happened by mistake.\u00a0 And the title was inspired by a funny SNL skit that\u00a0cracks\u00a0me up every time.\u00a0 Here’s an excerpt of the song by Dana Carvey with some fun animation.\u00a0 Choppin’ Bro CO Lay<\/strong> — It’s funny stuff!<\/p>\n

I was attempting to make my Aunt Barbara’s Spinach Souffle\u00b4<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 She’s been making\u00a0it every Christmas for years.\u00a0\u00a0My sister and I\u00a0always look forward to gobbling it down.\u00a0 And since\u00a0I recently learned how\u00a0simple the recipe is,\u00a0I\u00a0wanted to make it immediately.<\/p>\n

But it appears I\u00a0wasn’t paying enough attention at the grocery store, because I ended up with (3)\u00a0blocks of frozen chopped Broccoli<\/strong>, instead of frozen chopped Spinach.\u00a0 Since I had the rest of the ingredients, I made the recipe with the Broccoli and added some Panko Breadcrumbs on top.<\/p>\n

The Broc-Co-Lay Souffle<\/strong>\u00b4<\/strong> <\/span>was okay tasting, but the recipe is a lot better\u00a0with Spinach, and no Panko Breadcrumbs are needed.\u00a0 Also, it was\u00a0a bit curdled looking when made with Broccoli, which isn’t\u00a0attractive in a Souffle\u00b4<\/span>,\u00a0Gratin or similar.\u00a0 I won’t be making it with Broccoli again.<\/p>\n

Aunt Barbara’s Spinach Souffle<\/strong>\u00b4<\/span> Recipe:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

3 10oz. Frozen Chopped Spinach, thawed and drained
\n<\/strong>[It’s made with Broccoli\u00a0above and Spinach\u00a0below – YEAH]<\/strong><\/p>\n

1 16oz. Sour Cream<\/strong><\/p>\n

1 Envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mix all ingredients together and\u00a0bake in the oven at 350\u00b0<\/span> for 35-40 minutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n
