Have you ever been to The Hobbit<\/a>?\u00a0 It’s a restaurant\u00a0and unique dining experience in Orange that has nothing to do with the novel, movie or\u00a0Hobbit character, whew —\u00a0At least I didn’t see any visual cues of it, though\u00a0didn’t ask\u00a0the origin of its name.\u00a0\u00a0Regardless, it’s\u00a0simply a great\u00a0place to possibly have the best meal of your life, if\u00a0you have a few hours to spare.<\/p>\n

\"Shelly<\/a><\/p>\n

After years of hoping to dine at The Hobbit<\/a>, my husband took me for my birthday, another reason why I married him this year.\u00a0\u00a0Dining here could be an annual\u00a0occasion, he may be\u00a0afraid to learn, as it’s not inexpensive, but\u00a0worth the time and money —\u00a0It’s a\u00a0good value, I think.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a>\u00a0\"The<\/a>\u00a0\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

We’ve arrived —\u00a0Who and what’s behind the door?\u00a0 Looks like a speakeasy slot, I like it.<\/p>\n

\"Thee<\/a><\/p>\n

We started with\u00a0a Glass of Wine and seat in the Bar (above) —\u00a0The Hobbit<\/a> experience starts with an optional\u00a0drink\u00a0in the Bar, or in one of the other sitting areas inside or outside.<\/p>\n

\"Upstairs<\/a>\u00a0 \"The<\/a>\u00a0 \"Cheers<\/a><\/p>\n

After\u00a0orientation of the Bar and various rooms within an old converted house, all head downstairs to the Wine Cellar for\u00a0Champagne & Hors d’ Oeuvres (included in a fixed price).<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

You may eat and enjoy as many Hors d’ Oeuvres and drink as much Champagne as you like.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

The photos don’t do all justice – Each Hors d’ Oeuvre was exceptional,\u00a0delicious and top notch.<\/p>\n

\"Beef<\/a>\u00a0 \"The<\/a>\u00a0 \"At<\/a><\/p>\n

Busy\u00a0trying everything while I could (about\u00a0ten dishes\u00a0over and over again),\u00a0I\u00a0didn’t take notes\u00a0— Amongst other dishes, they offered a smooth Liver P\u00e2t\u00e9, Steak Tartare, Beef Sat\u00e9, Caviar, etc.\u00a0 I’m personally not a big Caviar fan, but appreciate their generosity.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

I loved The Hobbit’s\u00a0Steak Tartare — It was perfectly chilled and fresh.<\/p>\n

\"Wine<\/a><\/p>\n

If you like,\u00a0while in the Wine Cellar, select a bottle of Wine to have with dinner.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

The experience continues upstairs, from the Wine Cellar at a privately assigned table.<\/p>\n

\"View<\/a><\/p>\n

It’s romantic too.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

Even the Bread Roll was extra\u00a0special, with a lot Herbs.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Hobbit<\/a> meals come with an ever-changing menu\/program, with intermission and all.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

Your menu will most likely be different, but ours included Seared Loin of Lamb with Organic Red Quinoa and a Tart Cherry Reduction (top photo), Butter Lettuce with Roquefort Dressing and Port Poached Pear (directly above), and Wild Mushroom Stuffed Filet Mignon (below).<\/p>\n

Almond Cake, Apricot Ice Cream and a Chocolate Mascarpone Mousse (below).<\/p>\n

During intermission that’s\u00a0followed by Sorbet and the main entr\u00e9e, we visited\u00a0the kitchen and\u00a0enjoyed our Wine on the\u00a0outdoor patio,\u00a0while hoping to make room for more food.<\/p>\n

We toast to the Chefs and owners of The Hobbit<\/a> — We LOVED our meal and time there.<\/p>\n
