\"Calivino<\/a><\/p>\n

Have you been to Calivino Wine Pub<\/a>?\u00a0 It’s in Anaheim, near the Honda Center<\/a>, Angel Stadium of Anaheim<\/a> and other happenings, off Katella Avenue. We just learned about it and gladly so, since\u00a0the food is terrific. We’ve been to other Wine Bar\/Pubs that serve great food, like Sealegs<\/a> and The Twisted Wine<\/a>, so the test-bar is high,\u00a0but Calivino unexpectedly stood out.<\/p>\n

\"Calivino<\/a><\/p>\n

Calivino Wine Pub<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0a bit hard to see off Katella.\u00a0\u00a0Its cross-street is Howell —\u00a0Just turn into the business park area, keep heading left and you’ll\u00a0see it slivered-in, amongst other businesses and\u00a0eateries.\u00a0 Hooters is across the parking lot to drop off\u00a0the boys on\u00a0a Girl’s Wine Night out.<\/p>\n

\"Toast<\/a><\/p>\n

Seating includes a long bar and\u00a0a good combination of couches and\u00a0tall and short tables.<\/p>\n

\"Calivino,<\/a><\/p>\n

It’s rare when everything on a menu sounds appealing, well not that rare, but\u00a0I\u00a0do want\u00a0all on Calivino’s Menu.\u00a0 Since we weren’t sure\u00a0where to begin, we tried\u00a0a few\u00a0house favorites.<\/p>\n

\"Calivino<\/a><\/p>\n

FOOD pictured from top down:\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0House Burger<\/strong> with Fried Onions, Onion Jam and Havarti, which is sweet, spicy and juicy –\u00a0Bacon Dates<\/strong> with Goat Cheese and Honey –\u00a0Spinach Wontons<\/strong> with Parmesan and Garlic –\u00a0Brussels Sprouts<\/strong> roasted with Crispy Pork.<\/p>\n

\"Calivino<\/a><\/p>\n

I’d have all again and the Spinach Wontons<\/strong> (above) every day — You certainly can’t tell how great they are from the dark photo, but WOW, they’re a perfectly seasoned\u00a0combo of\u00a0Baby Leaf Spinach and crunch.\u00a0 Each Wonton tastes like the best Spinach Dip already on a chip.<\/p>\n

\"Calivino<\/a><\/p>\n

Oh yeah, Wine.\u00a0 It’s a Wine Pub after all — I like Wine too.<\/p>\n

\"C<\/a><\/p>\n

The Reds,\u00a0Whites,\u00a0Sweets & Sparkling — Calivino’s owner, Daniel\u00a0hand selects them all.<\/p>\n

\"At<\/a><\/p>\n

And there’s Beer too — A rotating selection of fine, local brews are noted on a chalkboard.<\/p>\n

\"Calivino<\/a><\/p>\n

Calivino<\/strong> — Cali for California and Vino for Wine.\u00a0 We like it and the CA Flag Bear on\u00a0the logo.<\/p>\n

\"CWP<\/a><\/p>\n

It’s a nice mix of\u00a0old world and new world\u00a0and it feels that way.<\/p>\n

\"Matt<\/a><\/p>\n

We tried\u00a0REDS from California and Spain —\u00a0Leaping Horse Cabernet (2013), Beso De Vino Garnacha (2011), Reserva Eguia Tempranillo (2009) and Artezin Red Zinfandel (2012).<\/p>\n

\"Calivino<\/a><\/p>\n

We liked sipping\u00a0Wine on\u00a0the couch\u00a0and the rustic tables with bottled water and\u00a0succulents.<\/p>\n

\"Chillaxing<\/a><\/p>\n

I’m\u00a0heading back soon with a group of girls for more bites and Tempranillo.<\/p>\n

\"Calivino<\/a><\/p>\n

Calivino Wine Pub<\/strong> — A great stop before or after an event,\u00a0for\u00a0Happy Hour (3-7pm, Sun – Fri), 1\/2 Price Bottles of Wine on Wednesdays, and 1\/2 off Glasses of Wine on Thursdays.\u00a0 See their website<\/a> for\u00a0more info and\/or changes.\u00a0\u00a0New\u00a0food\u00a0dishes will be added below.<\/p>\n
