\"Camp<\/a><\/p>\n

In a beautiful mountain setting with food bloggers from around the country, I learned more about FOOD, food photography, sponsors’ ingredients, food-related careers and food blogging in general. \u00a0It was my first time at Camp Blogaway<\/a>. \u00a0I’m glad it’s held in California. \u00a0One blogger flew from Morocco<\/a> to attend, and others I met came from Oklahoma<\/a>, New Hampshire<\/a>, Oregon<\/a>, Idaho<\/a>, etc. \u00a0Those I recall now, but all attendees are linked here<\/a>. \u00a0It was interesting to meet people that do the same things around the world and locally, and other accomplished food industry people. \u00a0I appreciated all of it. \u00a0Camp Blogaway<\/strong> was a 3-day whirlwind of food-related workshops, tastings, nature walks, and mingling with Wine and Coffee. \u00a0Snapshots of my experience are posted below.<\/p>\n

I arrived early with Chef Marie<\/a>, an awesome lady and carpool buddy who made my trip great.<\/p>\n

Wine from Wente<\/a> was on the itinerary each evening — A Highlight.<\/p>\n

Cheese from Cabot<\/a> with Wente Wine<\/a> on the lodge deck was my favorite combination.<\/p>\n

I loved the Cheese Ball Pine Cones<\/strong> by Cabot<\/a>\u00a0with the\u00a0Almond Board of California<\/a>\u00a0Almonds.<\/p>\n

\"Pine<\/a><\/p>\n

I will someday be making a Cheese Ball Pine Cone with Almonds and Rosemary, as shown.<\/p>\n

\"Session<\/a><\/p>\n

Session Panel with the Average Betty<\/a>\u00a0who interviews Phil Lempert, the Supermarket Guru<\/a>, regarding his experiences, knowledge, opinions and expertise, which was informative.<\/p>\n

My favorite session was the Natural Light Photo Workshop with Christina Peters<\/a>. \u00a0She’s a great teacher — I learned a couple things, but need to learn more, as indicated by too many photos.<\/p>\n

\"Chef<\/a><\/p>\n

Chef Marie<\/a> (above) made tasty North Carolina Sweet Potato<\/a> Smoothies<\/strong> with Davidson’s Safest Choice<\/a> Pasteurized Eggs for arriving campers on the first day of camp. \u00a0I had several cups.<\/p>\n

\"Chef<\/a><\/p>\n

Chef Marie<\/a> has written at least 12 books, including the Saint-Tropez Diet<\/a>, a few are shown above.<\/p>\n

\"Food<\/a><\/p>\n

Though we were a bunch of food bloggers, it was camp and it wasn’t fancy, but everyone was nice.<\/p>\n

\"One<\/a><\/p>\n

I tried my first White Sweet Potato (above) from\u00a0North Carolina Sweet Potatoes<\/a>\u00a0and liked it best.<\/p>\n

After Camp Blogaway<\/a>\u00a0I asked myself… What is it I want out of food blogging other than opportunities to try food? \u00a0I have ideas. \u00a0I’d love to sell Shelly Jellies<\/a>, my award-winning candy someday, or work with a brand I truly believe in, or just keep doing what I’m doing. \u00a0All are pretty great. \u00a0I cook anything I want and my husband<\/a> loves it, and we luckily get to try all kinds of FOOD, and only the food-related products we’re interested in. \u00a0In other words, I\u2019m content and I’d like more, but to obtain whatever (more) might be requires work and diligence to make it happen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
