The Vegetable Moussaka\u00a0Recipe in The Olive and The Caper<\/a>\u00a0had such promise —\u00a0I’m not quite sure why it wasn’t as good as it should have been.\u00a0 An assembly line of baked Eggplant, blanched Potatoes and sliced Tomatoes was prepared, as well as homemade Bechamel Sauce.\u00a0 All was layered as instructed with Bechamel and Cheese poured over top.\u00a0 It looked\u00a0terrific going in and coming out of the oven, but\u00a0unfortunately didn’t become\u00a0the fluffy cloud of Bechamel with\u00a0goods underneath that I’ve previously enjoyed at a few Greek restaurants.\u00a0 Instead it was dry throughout and curdled in places, not a\u00a0desirable combination.<\/p>\n

I like the cookbook, but will be moving past\u00a0the Vegetable Moussaka.\u00a0 Until choosing the next tasty Greek recipe\u00a0to make, I’m sticking with the Greek Fried Egg<\/a>\u00a0and heading to Papadakis Taverna<\/a>\u00a0for a luscious Moussaka fix.\u00a0 Opa!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
