Cafe R+D<\/a> is part of the\u00a0Hillstone<\/a> Restaurant Group.\u00a0 Its decor reminds me of Houston’s, one of my favorite restaurants in the group.\u00a0 This R+D is in Fashion Island<\/a>, another is in Dallas and one just opened in Santa Monica.\u00a0 We enjoyed the Newporter Roasted Chicken Salad<\/strong> with Avocado, Bacon & Huntsman Cheese (above)\u00a0— It’s a fun and tasty deconstructed Salad.<\/p>\n

\"Cafe<\/a><\/p>\n

Mediterranean Seared Tuna Salad<\/strong> with Sushi Grade Tuna, Avocado, Cucumber & Goat Cheese.\u00a0 It’s a good flavor combination and the Tuna melted in our mouth(s).<\/p>\n

\"Cafe<\/a><\/p>\n

Cafe R+D Chicken & Spinach Salad <\/strong>with Bloomsdale Spinach, Apples, Cashews & Bacon.\u00a0 During this visit, we realized\u00a0that all entrees (above)\u00a0were served with a Deviled Egg — That’s after we had the Deviled Eggs starter.\u00a0 You might want to take that into consideration when ordering, although they’re only $4, a small concern compared\u00a0to other prices on the menu.<\/p>\n

\"Cafe<\/a><\/p>\n

The Dip Duo<\/strong>\u00a0includes Tortilla Chips with Guacamole and\u00a0a Salsa-Queso type\u00a0dip with\u00a0a bit of a smokey flavor —\u00a0We loved it!\u00a0 The Chips were endless, but we\u00a0wished the dip was too.\u00a0 Back to the Deviled Eggs<\/strong>, half of our group liked them\u00a0and the other half didn’t care for ’em.\u00a0 There’s a lot of crunch and sweetness in the\u00a0R+D Eggs\u00a0and some were hoping for a\u00a0high quality\u00a0traditional flavor.<\/p>\n
