We dared to descend the darkened stairway (freight elevator)\u00a0into the depths of The Cellar Restaurant<\/a> to celebrate\u00a0their 3rd Annual Trick or Eat Halloween Dinner Party<\/strong>.\u00a0 They report that the lore of haunted restaurants is talked about, but nowhere is it truer than in The Cellar<\/em>.\u00a0 The space in which The Cellar inhabits was home to untold mysteries and\u00a0the haunting of The Cellar is a closely guarded secret that’s only revealed once a year.<\/p>\n

Course One:<\/strong>\u00a0 Radioactive abductor muscles in a pool of gamma charged ooze, black goop, and unearthed fungus AKA <\/span>Pan Seared Sea Scallops with a Zesty Basil Sauce, Balsamic Reduction and Enoki Mushrooms.<\/p>\n

Course Two:<\/strong>\u00a0 Dissected alien seed pods, toxic forest leaves in slimy secretions, with rotten and moldy milk AKA<\/span> Mission Fig Salad with Baby Oak Leaf Lettuce, Maple Vinaigrette and\u00a0Aged Gorgonzola.<\/p>\n

\"Cellar<\/a><\/p>\n

Main Course:<\/strong>\u00a0 Fire charred\u00a0boat deck aged fishing chum, steamed maggots, and finished with a gangrene and puss (yuck) sauce AKA <\/span>Grilled Mahi Mahi with Savory Rice,\u00a0finished with an Herbed Butter Sauce.<\/p>\n

\"Cellar<\/a><\/p>\n

Or decayed cow muscles with slaughterhouse drippings and fungal growths AKA<\/span> Grilled Flavorful Rib Eye Steak, with a Merlot and Mushroom Reduction.<\/p>\n

Dessert:<\/strong>\u00a0 Graveyard mud souffl\u00e9 with dried blood and bloody sacks AKA <\/span>Chocolate Souffl\u00e9 with Melted Dark Chocolate and Fresh Raspberries.<\/p>\n

We thought the $49 price for all was pretty great and the show was entertaining.\u00a0 The Scallops were just okay, a little rubbery, but the Mahi Mahi and Rib Eye Steak were definitely The Cellar’s\u00a0usual caliber.\u00a0 It was so dark\u00a0that we didn’t know the sauce on the Mahi was bright green, until viewing the photos —\u00a0Sorry a couple are out of focus.\u00a0 Overall, it’s a good deal and a fun experience.\u00a0 It’s sold out for tonight, but worth booking next year.\u00a0 Luckily we survived the zombies.\u00a0 Happy Halloween!<\/p>\n
